Podfo is delighted to be supporting the Children’s Cancer Run which will take place on Sunday 20 May 2018 at Newcastle racecourse.
Celebrating its 36th year, the Children’s Cancer Run is a cross country family fun run, set up to raise money for the North of England Children’s Cancer Research (NECCR). The run offers 5 mile, 3 mile and ‘mini mile’ cross country tracks and is one of the largest single charity run events in Europe.
Catherine Riley, Marketing Manager at Podfo, said “The Children’s Cancer Run provides a fantastic opportunity for young people from across the region to show their united support in the fight against childhood cancer. A truly uplifting and inspirational event, we are incredibly proud to act as a corporate supporter to such a worthwhile cause.”
“Our CEO, Chis Peacock, Chairman of the NECCR, and a founder of the Children’s Cancer Run, is extremely passionate about the charity and the research it has funded since its establishment in 1979. With over £30 million raised the charity has helped to firmly place the North East region as one of the world leaders in the research of childhood cancer.”
Every penny raised goes towards the work of the NECCR to improve the lives of children with cancer in the North of England. In 2017, the Children’s Cancer Run raised over £249,000 for the NECCR, adding to the £7million which has already been raised by Children’s Cancer runners over the past 36 years.
Watch out for some of the Podfo team who will be participating in the run, and come see us at the runner’s village, where we will be handing out supporter banners to cheer runners across the finishing line!
